My Thoughts:
World Stood Still is a re-write, with the original
version from Jez Spencer 4-Track Mind album.
The bridge was never in the original version, and is included on this first
track -- It's such a cool one at that!! This was my favourite song for a
while (before skin), but it's still right up there :o) It's one of the
most original songs, and is quiet different from the original
arrangement. The radio edit is the last track on this cd, and is
almost the same, sans solo, and with a shorter intro. Skin is breathtaking, and is one of the most beautiful songs I have heard to date. All through the verse, the drums are are ticking away with a cool, continuous lick on the rims before heading into the smooth chorus.
You HAVE to get this cd to fully soak up the offerings of Skin. The bridge builds up into the last lot of choruses, and
it's during this, that you have to close your eyes, and just let the feeling wash over you. Such beautiful
harmonies ... and with that last drawing of breath .... "I can't
breath"....ohhh... *sigh*. Poppyseed is ((LIVE)) and is gorgeous! Beautiful smooth harmonies, with the electric buzz keeping the light
tension there in the first verse. This is a cool take. The keys in this are
gorgeous. Beautiful blend from the whole band. The outro has Spencer moaning simply "yeah".... Beautiful!!! The hidden track is...
well okay, I'll tell you, it's a special version of Jaded. It's sounds
super cool too. The best I have heard!
