Well I am not one for words. I mean, I talk a lot, but most of it is dribble. Simply put: 54 Seconds take my breath away! It has been nearly 2 years since I first heard 54 Seconds, yet it feels like it was only a month ago. I love the music more now than I did in the beginning. Sometimes when I listen, I don't want to miss anything. I want to know every detail in the creation of the songs. I want to analyze everything. And then there are times when I throw all that analyzing out the window, and just let the music wash over me. I soak up every trickling note, every caressing breath, every scream that takes away my bitterness. I always feel content after listening to this band. How 54 Seconds Got Me Thinking: There are three phases, I believe, to becoming a passionate fan of an artist's music: PHASE ONE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS LAST When I first surfed in to the official 54 Seconds website, and I downloaded the three MP3's on their site, I instantly LOVED "It Got You Thinking", and was very impressed with both "Strange Day" & "Wanted". I had never heard such complex music sound so clear. Phase one: COMPLETE *PHASE TWO: ((LiVe))* WIRE** This is the real test. What is the artist like ((LIVE)) ? I am still pretty skeptical with any artist when I first hear them -- even if I do like their songs. They HAVE to sound good live for me to become really passionate -- or rather for me to respect the music. With 54 Seconds, I was fortunate at the time, as I had access to Clubcast Live (being in Australia, it's a bit tough to get to a show in Austin). When I listened to one of the band's archived live shows, I was literally blown away (yep, just like the song) at how great they sounded live. So that was really it for me. I was hooked for life. Like many 54 Seconds fans, what struck me was how great they ALL were as musicians. Creative, confident and serious. Phase Two: COMPLETE PHASE THREE: PERSONALITY PERKS & PEEVES Okay, this one is not imperative, but more like a bonus stage. Extra points if you like. Even if an artist is great, it can be tough to follow their careers if they have huge egos problems -- Not impossible mind you, but it sure makes it a nice experience when the artists are nice. I'm not actually allowed to go into detail about what I really think of Spencer, Stewart & Glenn as men -- Children may be reading ;o) I can say though, they make me laugh!! They have great personalities, and one bounces off the other. They are a delight to listen to. On the net there are a lot of articles and interviews showcasing the band's down to earth humour and normality as well as, some great photographs -- The guys themselves were really nice in answering questions, so this stage was a cinch. How can you not love them?! It is literally impossible! Phase Three: COMPLETE [ In a Box ] [ Inspirations Winner ] [ My Thoughts ] .
