"This is still probably my favorite song on here. All I was listening
to at the time was Chris Bell's solo record "I am the cosmos"
and I think it shows. It was also the only one not recorded at my house. Mark
Addison and Nina Singh, who were in the Borrowers at the time, now
Kitty Gordon,
were on the road and let me record at their house. Einar's drums really
make the song happen for me (and JJ too, who felt he never could really get the
same feel when we played it live), and because of limited track space Johnny and
I did the background vocals and percussion together on the same mic. Sadly, due
to recent developments in digital technology it's also the last time I had to
flip the tape to record things backwards.
